Naming Ceremony:
- ceremony is held on the second name day (birthday) of each lion (sometimes the third name day, depending on the pride)
- lion goes in front of everyone and tells the pride what god or goddess they have chosen as their patron
- some prides may make you tell why you chose them
- each pride has a special place where they hold this ceremony, generally the young lions that the ceremony is held for are on a rock or other higher ground above the rest of the pride
- after they tell what god/goddess they have chosen, each lion must pass a rite of passage type of thing. the specifics vary from tribe to tribe, but generally it involves the lead healer and/or the leader of the pride
- after the rite of passage ritual is completed, the lion's patron god takes back their unnatural markings
- it's a coming of age ceremony
